Kalihi Pālama HCC Uniform by Nāke‘u Awai

Nov. 10 Update: Aloha, Nov 15 is deadline for initial order of KPHCC Nake’u uniforms.  As a note, we cannot assure that the cost for the mu’umu’u and the aloha shirt will remain the same in the future.  Labor, material availability, shipping are just a few of the costs that bear on the cost for future uniforms.  Thus, we encourage our members to order their mu’umu’u or shirt now.

Uniform will be used for such events as club socials, convention, attendance at funeral services of our members, attendance at socials of other clubs, etc.

Aloha,

Orders are now being taken for the club’s aloha shirt and mu‘umu‘u designed by member, Nāke‘u Awai. See pictures.

Special discounted price is $120 for mu‘umu‘u, plus 4.712% tax; and aloha shirt $70 plus tax. Send name and size by email to leimomikhan@gmail.com, followed by check payment made to Kalihi Palama Hawaiian Civic Club, c/o Leimomi Khan, 1288 Kapiolani Blvd, Apt 1905, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Or you may pay with credit card by Paypal online at our club website MU‘UMU‘U | ALOHA SHIRT for a fee of $5. Deadline for initial order is November 12, 2021. If unable to pay all at once, contact Leimomi for a payment plan.

Note: special orders may be made for long sleeve shirt and Bette Mu’u at additional cost. Check with Leimomi. See also additional design of Mu’umu’u below with cutout sleeves.

As a side note, our club may hold a celebration in 2022 to celebrate our 50th anniversary, actually it will be 53 years in Nov 2022, but due to other commitments and COVID, we were not able to hold the celebration. It will be a good time to wear our club uniform. 🙂

Maika’i nui, Congratulations to Reyn Kaupiko

Aloha, KPHCC Members,

Ho’omaika’i, Reyn!  On October 5, 2021, Reyn Kaupiko, a Kalihi Palama Hawaiian Civic club member, called to announce that his application for the Native Hawaiian Representative on the Veterans Tribal Council was accepted and approved! I understand that for a number of years this seat had been vacant of any Native Hawaiian representation and today things were put back in an order that was meant to be.

“I just wanted to notify you…The VA contacted me and I will be the Native Hawaiian Representative for the Tribal Council…Thank you for your help during this process”

We are so proud of Reyn and we know he will respectfully represent our Native Hawaiian Veterans and their many concerns and needs. Reyn will speak out and work diligently to remind Congress and the Veterans administration about all of the faithful, dedicated  Native Hawaiian veterans who fought to protect our freedoms and the people of Hawaii and to recognize our Native Hawaiian Military for their honor and service for our beloved Hawaii nei and, the United States of America.
