Important: AHCC Convention Update

The annual Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (AHCC) convention will NOT be held at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay, November 8-16, 2020, as originally planned. If you have already made hotel reservations or other travel arrangements, you are encouraged to cancel them before the cancellation deadline to avoid fees or penalties. 

On July 13, 2020, the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (AHCC) Board of Directors voted to hold the 61st Annual Convention online.  The convention plenary will be conducted virtually from Nov. 13-14, 2020 (Fri/Sat).  All resolutions will be vetted virtually online; elections of officers, awards, Kūkui Lama Kū will also be conducted virtually.  Aha Mele, Haliʻa Aloha will be pre-recorded and available for sharing virtually. The AHCC is now coordinating all IT Technology, Audio/Visual requirements, and Virtual Meeting options for all convention activities.  Classes will be provided to educate Civic Club delegates as a computer with AV and Wifi will be required to participate.  Please check the AHCC website for updated information:
Actions needing your immediate attention:
Delegate to Convention:  The KPHCC will have approximately 10 delegate positions.  If interested in serving as a delegate, please inform me at by not later than September 30, 2020.  Convention registration fee remains as $50.  Submit check to Kalihi Palama HCC, c/o Leimomi Khan, Treasurer, 1288 Kapiolani Blvd, Apt 1905, Honolulu, HI 96814.
Resolutions:  If you desire to submit a resolution for consideration by the AHCC, please submit a copy of your draft resolution to me at by not later than September 4, 2020.  
Awards:  If you desire to nominate a member of our club or anyone else for an AHCC award, please contact me for the nomination form by not later than Sep 4.   Deadline for submission of the nomination form to the AHCC is September 14.
Award categories include:  Kama Ali’i Award (Outstanding Young Hawaiian Civic Club Member);  Ke P’okela O Kuhio Award (Outstanding Hawaiian Civic Club Member); Piilani Award (Outstanding HCC/Council Electronic Communication);
Kulia I Ka Nu’u Award (Outstanding Native Hawaiian/Non-Civic Club Member); Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana’ole Award (Outstanding Hawaiian Civic Club of the Year);  Pualeilani Award (Outstanding Hawaiian Civic Club Ohana).Kako’o ia Kalaniana’ole Award (Outstanding Non-Hawaiian for Service to the Hawaiian Community); Kalaniana’ole Award (Outstanding HCC Member for Service to the Community At-Large).
Nominations for Officer Positions for the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs:  Nominations are now being accepted for the positions of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and Treasurer of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs.  The nomination form can be found at  Deadline for nomination is October 14, 2020.
Membership Dues:  Please submit your membership dues for 2020 of $15 by September 8 to:  Kalihi Palama HCC c/o Leimomi Khan, Treasurer, 1288 Kapiolani Blvd, Apt 1905, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814.  As our per capita payment is due to the AHCC and the Oahu Council by Sep 14, only members who have paid their membership dues by Sep 8, will be reported as members.
