This is a friendly reminder that we will be having a Kalihi Palama HCC General Membership Meeting this Saturday, at 9:00 a.m., Hawaii time, by zoom. Zoom link and convention resolution matrix was sent by email.
It’s really an important meeting to decide upon our club’s position on the various resolutions submitted by clubs for consideration. We held a meeting of the delegates who will be representing you the other night and with exception of a few resolutions, will likely recommend to you that we support the majority of the resolutions. For convenience, I’ve attached the resolution matrix and the resolutions again. Please especially review resolutions assigned to the Ecosystems/Environment Committee and the Native Rights Committee.
Additionally, we’ll review some of the complex or controversial proposals for Constitution and Bylaws amendments to seek your concurrence on our recommendations.
Convention is one of the major activities, if not “the” major activity of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. It’s where work is done to advocate for our people. Thus, please take the time to at least review the matrix and if you have any concerns raise them at Saturday’s meeting. We are working hard and so would really appreciate your attendance to affirm positions we will be taking on your behalf.
